PREDECEASED are three “weirdo riffers”, based in Manchester, that make “Grunge that's played too well, Hardcore with riffs that are too weird and punk with too much self-respect”. They already count Henry Rollins as a fan and have been championed by Daniel P Carter, Alyx Holcombe and Emily Pilbeam at BBC Radio One and Tom Robinson and Michelle Zenner at BBC 6Music. They’ve toured with Quicksand, Mclusky, Fall of Troy & JOHN and have just announced their first UK headline tour, kicking off at The George Tavern on 9th May.

THE NEWS is the first release from a double a-side single (the second track THE SUN arrives on 10th May), produced by Wayne Adams (PETBRICK, USA Nails, Shooting Daggers) and thematically tackles division and the hapless effect that endless news coverage is having on society as a whole, as guitarist Charlie Wyatt explains

“THE NEWS is about willingly ignoring the TV and apps to stop having constant bad news piped into my brain, enforcing the idea of ignorance being bliss while also being embarrassed and ashamed about what higher beings would think of us if they ever visited. The second verse touches on the idea of the working class having one set of rules while the rich have another. It’s about division and trying to get by in a way where you can stay informed but also stay somewhat happy and not angry at your neighbour.”

Last year they released their first album WHAT DO YOU DO? They played with DITZ, Modern Color, Meatbodies, CLAMM and USA Nails amongst others. 2024 has already seen PREDECEASED release a Live EP on tape and video. The band are readying more music, set for release later in the year.

PREDECEASED are Charlie Wyatt, guitar and vocals, Jack Hartley on bass and George Coleman on drums.
